A doorway that stays open loses cooled air every second it is open, and lets in hot air, dust, insects and street fumes in return. An air curtain fixed above the opening drives a sheet of air downwards at a speed and angle set for the door, and that sheet acts as a barrier while people and goods pass through it. Seven Infra supplies and installs air curtains sized to each opening, and the ventilation fans a building needs alongside them.

The unit must throw air to the floor at the full width of the opening, or the barrier fails at the bottom, which is where hot air and dust enter. We size from the opening and the exposure, not from the catalogue length that happens to fit the wall. An opening facing the prevailing wind gets a unit specified for the higher velocity.

Ventilation fans
Air curtains hold the door line, and ventilation fans keep the rest of the building moving. We supply and install extract fans for kitchens and washrooms, supply fans for plant rooms and car parks, and roof fans for warehouses, sized to the air-change rate the space needs. Built for the UAE climate
The temperature difference across a UAE doorway can be 20°C in summer, so the curtain has to hold a larger pressure difference than it would in a milder climate. Units are selected for T3 conditions at 46°C and for the dust load, with washable intake filters and motors rated for continuous duty. Fans carry MOIAT labels where the scheme applies.

Frequently asked questions
How much energy does an air curtain save?
A correctly sized curtain on a busy doorway cuts the heat entering through the opening by 60 to 80 percent, which reduces the cooling load on the space behind it. We estimate the figure from the survey.
Does an air curtain keep insects out?
Yes, when the discharge velocity at floor level is high enough. Restaurants and food outlets get a unit specified for that velocity.
Can the unit switch on only when the door opens?
Yes. A door contact or a BMS signal starts and stops the unit, and a two-speed control runs it lower when the door is closed. We wire and test the sequence during commissioning.
What openings can you cover?
